Any project coordinator operates four components: spending, timing, duration and quality. Professional PMs also attempt to make the organization of business processes better. Take any project and you will see that it requires labour, funds and tools to deliver satisfactory outcomes. There are a number of things that are vital for efficient project management. A couple of them are listed in the next paragraph:
- Establishing goals and conducting analysis.
- Dealing with risk. Most have a certain level of risk.
- Choosing labor and tools for the project.
- Having a clear idea about the product you want to see when the project is finished.
- Controlling what is happening: giving out jobs, supervising execution.
- Managing adequate quality.
- Dealing with change. Circumstances change. The majority of tasks occur in time, so the element of dynamics has to be properly considered.
- Talking to people doing the project.
To deal with these elements you can use pen and a notepad or probably MS EXCEL. But you get some interesting advantages if you decide to use project tracking software:
